Privacy Notice
Version 2026-09-05 · Last updated September 5, 2026
This notice explains what information Battle Creek IT LLC handles, why it is used, and the choices available to people using the service.
1. Information we handle
We collect account details such as your email address, display name, optional profile picture, password-derived authentication data, time zone, locale, verification status, and security settings. We also process the content you choose to provide, including church logos, prayer requests, updates, categories, reports, support messages, church and circle memberships, invitations, notification choices, and prayer interactions.
Prayer requests and support reports may contain sensitive personal information. Share only information you are comfortable providing and have permission to share about other people.
2. Technical and usage information
We use session and CSRF cookies needed to keep you signed in and protect account actions. Our servers may process ordinary request information such as timestamps, request identifiers, browser or device details, network address, security events, and error diagnostics. Prayer text is excluded from ordinary application logs.
3. Why we use information
- Provide accounts, private circles, church workspaces, prayer feeds, invitations, notifications, exports, and support.
- Apply audience and membership permissions before displaying content.
- Secure the service, prevent misuse, investigate reports, and maintain audit records.
- Send verification, account-security, invitation, and preference-controlled messages.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the service.
- Meet legal obligations and protect people, rights, and the service.
4. Who can see prayer content
You choose a circle when sharing a prayer. Active members of that circle can see it. Joining a church does not expose your personal prayer space or unrelated circles. If you hide your name from members, ordinary members see an anonymous label; authorized moderators may still identify the author when needed to review a safety or privacy report.
Church owners and administrators can manage church membership and roles, but those roles do not grant access to a member’s personal prayer space. Platform access to prayer content is exceptional, limited to an authorized support or safety purpose, and should produce an audit record.
5. When information is shared
Information is shared with the people and organizations you select, with authorized administrators or safety reviewers when required for their role, and with service providers that host or operate necessary infrastructure such as hosting, databases, and email delivery. Providers may use information only to perform their services for Pray With Friends.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, address an emergency, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect rights and safety. Pray With Friends does not currently sell personal information or use prayer content for targeted advertising.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. A deletion request starts a 30-day recovery period. Some records may be retained longer when needed for security, abuse prevention, financial records, legal obligations, or the integrity of privacy-safe audit trails. Deleted live data may remain temporarily in encrypted backups until those backups age out under the approved retention schedule.
Private-alpha limitation: final anonymization is implemented and tested, but its recurring production switch remains off until the retention schedule and production deletion drill are approved. It must be enabled before public launch.
7. Your choices
You can update your profile and notification settings, leave eligible circles or churches, block members, download an account export, request deletion, cancel a pending deletion during the grace period, and contact support about privacy. Removing content from your own view may not remove copies another member independently made outside the service.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to limit unauthorized access, including scoped permissions, secure session controls, multi-factor authentication for platform administrators, protected provider credentials, and audit logging. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Children and teens
Pray With Friends is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, use the service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. A future youth program would require a separately reviewed child-safety and verified-parental-consent design.
10. Location and policy changes
The launch territory and international data-transfer terms have not yet been finalized. If this notice changes materially, users should receive prominent notice and, where appropriate, be asked to acknowledge the new version before continuing.
11. Contact
Signed-in users can submit a private privacy request from Account & privacy → Ideas & support. Public privacy contact: [email protected]
